Build It Before You're Ready
Your Foundation Is Everything

The higher you want to go, the deeper you must dig…
One of the most difficult things for high performers to do is to work towards something they cannot see.
The bigger your dream, the more preparation you will need. Nobody needs to spend 4 hours packing their bags to take a stroll around the corner. However, if you are leaving the country for a few months, you will likely spend several cumulative hours (if not days) strategically packing.
If you were to go the biggest city near where you live, you will likely see something very familiar: TALL BUILDINGS. All tall buildings have something in common.
Whether it’s a skyscraper in New York or the ancient pyramids of Egypt, tall buildings have deep foundations. As a matter of fact, the taller the building…the deeper and wider the foundation must be.
If this is violated, watch out! The crash of that building will be great. There is a reason why the pyramids are still standing…

There is a reason why the pyramids are still standing…
Let’s take it a step further…
This principle is also found in nature. The taller a tree is, the deeper (and wider) its root structure must be. The reason is because the roots must be able to support the weight and height of the tree in order for it to survive. Big trees without deep root structures get blown over by stormy winds.
As a matter of fact, the taller the building…the deeper and wider the foundation must be…
So “HOW” can you build before you’re ready? All building begins with digging. The higher you want to dig, the deeper you must dig. This is true for nature, this is also true for your career. If you want to build a body, mind, and a career that will endure the test of time…start digging.
You must go DOWN before you go UP. Take the critical time to lay a strong foundation of fundamentals
Some Fundamentals That Should Be In Your Foundation:
Nutrition
Mental Performance (Can you upregulate & downregulate at will?)
Strength & Conditioning
Hydration
Supplementation
Massage, Stretching & Recovery Modalities
Guess what?…the foundation looks BORING. It is not pretty, shiny, or glamorous.
If you are planning on having a great athletic career, you better build that foundation well before it is your time to shine!

Josiah
