Choices vs. Commitments

...there is a DIFFERENCE

There is a big difference between choices and commitments. Often times, choices are made based on how you feel. When you woke up this morning, you chose to wear those shoes with those shorts and with that hat because you like the way you felt/looked.

A commitment is a decision that you make in your head and your heart BEFORE the choice even arises

Or you might choose to get the grilled chicken with a glass of water for lunch because the fried hamburger and soda will make you feel horrible prior to the team workout later today.

This is a ‘good’ choice

The thing is… Anybody can make a choice. There are a lot of people sitting in prison right now because of the choices that they made.

“There are a lot of people sitting in prison right now because of the choices that they made”

What I want to focus on is commitments… You might ask, what's the difference between a choice and a commitment? A commitment is a decision that you make in your head and your heart BEFORE the opportunity of a choice even arises!

It is a line in the sand that is drawn beforehand, in which you stand 10 toes down on…no matter what.

Commitments aren't based on a feeling, they are founded on CONVICTION

Commitments endure the test of time, they are not temporary

Commitments guard against anyone or anything that would attack your goals and dreams

Because you are committed you won't do certain things…in like fashion, because you're committed you have to do certain things

As an Athlete. As a child of God, there are certain things that you should NOT do...because you are committed.

As an Athlete. As a child of God, there are certain things that you should do...because you ARE committed

My question to you today is, "How many areas of your craft, your life are you truly committed to?....or are you just making CHOICES based on how you feel? Think about that.

Are you just making CHOICES based on how you feel?
