The Are 2 Types Of People

...according to Jesus

How Are You Building Your House?

Sometimes the most powerful insights are the simplest.

With simplicity, many people will blow it off, claiming quietly in their minds that, “I already know that.”

People are complex. We all have different personalities, different backgrounds, and different gifts.

When it comes to wisdom, however, there is a statement that Jesus made that was pretty straightforward.

Tough Times Will Come….

This statement pretty much divided all of humanity into 2 different types of people: wise and foolish.

In only a way that Jesus can, He offers a parable of wise people versus foolish people. And again, it is very simple.

Jesus says the following in Matthew 7:24-27:

24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

Hearing & DOING NOTHING = FOOLISHNESS

Hearing & DOING SOMETHING = WISDOM

When we hear God‘s word, it has a specific reason why it was sent into our life (Isaiah 55:11). We are supposed to be moved to action when we hear God‘s words.

Don’t Be Fooled…

When we decide NOT to take action, we are setting ourselves up for hard times down the way.

When we hear God‘s word and apply it, that word will bear fruit and prepare us for what is coming. God is the Rock. And when you build on the Rock, your safety, well-being, and future is secure.

Talk about simple!

Are we hearing God’s word, and not doing anything about it? If you are, we are basically building sandcastles and praying that “life” doesn’t happen. This is the epitome of foolishness.
