The End Is Better?
...here is why

This brings back memories…
One of my favorite passages is Ecclesiastes 7:8…
The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
I love the end of seasons. I love the end of years. The end of eras.
You see, when you come to the end of something, it always makes way for something NEW.
One of the things I would do at the end of athletic seasons when I was working in pro baseball was to clean the weightroom. Not just any type of cleaning…a deep clean. As a strength coach, I used this time to reflect on the past and to prepare for the future.

In the Dominican Republic…
I would thank God for the opportunity and the lessons, and I would strategize for what might be next…I love the end of seasons of life.
As an Athlete, you live your life in seasons: pre-season, in-season, postseason, and offseason. One thing that has always been true and will forever hold is that ALL SEASONS COME TO AN END.
Regardless of heartbreak, triumph, good times or bad, every season comes to an end. Our attitudes, habits and perspectives that we hold during a season will directly impact how we enter the new chapters that we embark on.
Some of you are going through hard seasons right now…it will come to an end.
Some of you are going through great seasons right now…thank God for it.
Some of you are confused during this time…seek God and ask Him for wisdom.
Some of you have just finished difficult seasons…take those lessons and get ready for what’s next.
But why is the END better? Why is the END of a season better than its beginning? The beginning is often exciting and the feelings of “new” are hard to match.
Here are some things to consider:
The END shows how much you have persevered
The END highlights your growth
The END demonstrates your character
The END reveals your maturity
The END prepares you for greater challenges
Think about this: God lives outside of time. He is eternal. He is not bound to time and seasons like we are. He already knows the end, and He knew the beginning before it even started!
When we faithfully go through seasons, we are not only growing, but we are growing closer to Him.
Your Friend,
Josiah
I had a lot of great reflection in this weightroom
