You Want To Be Great - But You Are Stuck....

It took King David almost 20 years to fully control the throne.
Isn’t it ironic that the King that was a ‘man after God’s own heart’ was one of the loneliest dudes in his time?
How do you go from being anointed to lead God’s people to:
Hiding out in caves
Acting insane (literally)
Being hunted as a fugitive
Having your wife given to someone else
Helplessly watching your people abused and mistreated
Some of you may have been told a long time ago:
“You’ve got potential”
“God has big plans for you”
“When it clicks for you, it’s going to be awesome”
….but here you are….SILENCE. NO PROGRESS. STUCK. FRUSTRATED. MAD.

When someone says, “You’ve got potential”
I’m here to tell you today to keep going…let God find you in the middle of your work. Keep your hands on the plow.
I have felt what you may be feeling. It is a sick feeling. A lonely feeling.
Don’t abandon your work…keep working. Hold on. The Bible says in James 1:4:
“But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
That word “perfect” implies a completeness (with God)…

Many of David’s battles made Goliath seem small…
Let’s remember something here…when David was facing some of the darkest and drama-filled moments in his life…David had ALREADY defeated Goliath.
His toughest challenges were mental and spiritual…some of David’s worst trials, enemies, and dark moments were enormous compared to Goliath.
Many of David’s life battles made Goliath seem small.
In these difficult and lonely seasons…patience “works” on you…to make you complete in areas you may be lacking.
David, despite all of his tough times, finally ascended to the throne. The things he had to go through prepared his spirit, his mind, and his body for the challenges that GOD knew were coming.
You too, my friend, will go through a similar process in your life…especially if you are aspiring to be great.

Patience through endurance is a tried and tested principle. You too will get to where you need to get…WHEN you adhere to this principle (Romans 8:28).
As an Athlete, you need to embrace this concept with open arms because many times God will not REMOVE hardship. Why?
Because He is REQUIRING us to become stronger.
Let. Patience. Work.
Your Friend,
Josiah
